Series contains research reports, compensation and fatigue test data, correspondence, drawings, photographs, and various instructions that pertain to the production, design, distribution, assembly, use, and performance of marine chronometers. Drawings and photographs show various chronometers and parts: Models 4221, M21, M22, and M23, among others. Beyond chronometers, this series highlights Hamilton’s contributions to World War II through the Army-Navy E Award and “Tomorrow In the Making” - Story of Hamilton and the War. Further documentation features service bulletins and catalogs for the Navy Bureau of Ships, and extracts from the U.S. Naval Observatory Ship’s Chronometer Records.
