This collection contains materials and papers belonging to O.B. Frye for his articles on South Bend Watch Company. This includes his research as well as collected documents related to the South Bend Watch Company. There are notes and copies of legal documents, ads, and articles relating to South Bend Watch Company and the associated Columbus Watch Company and Studebaker Watch Company.

Additionally, this collection contains a significant number of J.E. Coleman's correspondence from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s. This correspondence was used by Frye for his South Bend articles for the Watch & Clock Bulletin, as they are include Coleman's thoughts of South Bend watches from a horological perspective.
