Series IV: Jewels, 1930-1988, bulk 1940-1954

 Series
Series mainly contains specifications and procedures in the form of supplies contracts, which consist of photographs, drawings, reports, and lists that document all aspects of jewel production. This includes engineering standards and operation instructions for machines, fixtures, and devices. Also included in supplies contracts are jewel facility reports (copies) of Elgin National Watch Company. Photographs show machines and tools used in jewel production. Other notable items include a report on Jewel Bearing Production from the Turtle Mountain Jewel Bearing Plant in Rolla, North Dakota, which considers military specifications, design, application, and description of jewels. In contrast to this technical information is “Jewels at War,” a Hamilton company employee handbook that emphasizes the importance of manufacturing jewels.
